Potassium water glass, in other words, potassium silicate aqueous alkaline solution, is obtained by dissolving a soluble potassium silicate in autoclaves under pressure and at a temperature of more than 100°C. The raw material for the production of the soluble potassium silicate is quartz sand and potassium carbonate, which in turn are subjected to melting at temperatures above 1000°C.
